Even though this information is viewable from within the MacAddict Tour interface, we've been getting tons of letters asking us "Who's the band?". So here's all the info, plain and simple, for the artists you'll find in this month's Tour. If you like their music, drop these guys a line, or better yet, buy their CD's. Enjoy!
Driven by grinding guitars, a powerful rhythm section, and strong melodies, Lean vows to rock with heart and intelligence or die trying. Hot Lava Lucy, Lean's debut CD, was produced by the band and mixed by Karl Derfler (Live, The Verve Pipe, No Doubt, Dave Matthews, Foo Fighters) and Mike Cresswell (Third Eye Blind, Kevin Cadogan, Jerry Cantrell, Mark Eitzel, Oleander), and is available at the band's Website and Amazon.com. Riding the heels of Lucy's success, Lean and Cresswell went back into the recording studio in early 2001 to record a five song EP. The songs on the new disc are decidedly harder edged, but still deeply rooted in the crunchy guitar-pop that defines the Lean sound. Lean has played countless shows up and down the state of California since 1996. Their appearances at festivals such as Nowhere x Nowhere in Chico and the Orange Show in San Bernardino, and Bay Area venues such as Bottom of the Hill, Paradise Lounge, and Blake's, has earned them a reputation as a must-see live band. Some of the musicians Lean has had the pleasure of sharing a bill with are: Agent Orange, Zebrahead, Alien Ant Farm, The Step Kings, Soulcracker, The Blue, Orixa, Fetish, DownTemper, Left Out Lamont, Buddhakowski and many others.
With a vocal style that blends powerful alternative with groove oriented pop, Sally Anthony delivers a strong performance of original material. Noted by Launch Magazine as "One to Watch," Sally's music has been featured on over 100 radio stations as well as film and press publications. Nameless In-Between is a groove-driven pop song focused on looking inside yourself for your own acceptance.
Emo-rock duo from Sweden Chocolate Sunday is made up of Jens and Christian "Sunday," literally an underground independent band that has played together for 2 years. Chocolate Sunday is currently busy looking for more band members, a tough job, considering the low quantity of emo-kids in Sweden :) "Good-bye Beautiful Things" is a song about not being more happy with lots of cash or belongings. Sometimes to gain something you need to let go of another.
